Thinking, Fast and Slow is a book that details the research Kahneman conducted over decades, sometimes in collaboration with Amos Tversky. It covers the three phases of his career: his early days working on cognitive biases, the work on prospect theory, and his later work on happiness.
The core idea of the book is that people shift their thinking between two modes of thought: “System 1” is fast, instinctive, and emotional; “System 2” is slower, more deliberative, more logical.
